1- Overview
This document describes different alternatives for the physical mounting, placement and optional cover material.
2- Mounting
Rear Mount
- The device includes two strips of command strip adhesive which can be utilized for a quick non permanent mounting.
- Alternatively, more permanent double sided foam tape can be used.
Front Mount
- Use double sided foam tape to attach the front surface to Cover Material (see below for acceptable material types) - (ex. Industrial Grade foam double sided tape).
Note: Power adapter cable is 4.5 feet in length. An electrical outlet must be located within that distance. Power requirements: 3W average, 10W peak.
3 - Placement
- The sensor should be placed from 3 to 10 feet from the floor, with best results at 6 feet
- The Field of View is 140 degrees Azimuth and 70 degrees Elevation
- Sensor coverage is up to 15 feet forward, up to 8 feet on sides
- For Wall Mounting, the radar cord should be perpendicular to the floor.
- For Ceiling Mounting, the radar cord should be perpendicular or parallel to a wall.
Note: coverage may vary based on surrounding fixtures
4 - Cover Material
The Sensor always performs best when mounted without any covering, but can be mounted behind a variety of material types.
- Paper
- Card Stock
- Cardboard
- Plastic - 1/8"thick
- Plex - 1/4"thick
- Fabric
- Styrene
-
Wood - 3/16" plywood
Materials to avoid are metallic, liquid or highly reflective such as glass.
Note: Any configuration and mounting should be tested prior to production.
